Bolt connections

  • The scope of this lesson is the concept of contact in static analysis, as well as bolts and remote loads.
  • Simplify the model by eliminating parts which can be represented using connectors and remote loads.
  • Analyze contacts within assemblies.

This example demonstrates a static analysis on a two-part assembly, consisting of an AISI 1020 bar and base plate, where bolt connectors are used to model the joint with preload and a remote load is applied to the end of the bar.
